Rockchip has announced a new economical processor chip which might just be the thing that low budget Tablet PC manufacturers are looking at. Rockchip’s next-generation series of ARM based processors, the RockChip RK300XX series will help Tablet manufacturers to cut down costs and offer Tablets at even cheaper prices.

Specs and Features of the Rockchip RK30XX Low Cost Processor Chip:
- Dual-core ARM based Cortex-A9 processor whose speed can go up to 1.4GHz
- Quad-core ARM based Mali-400 Graphics Processing Unit with support for OpenGL ES 1.1/2.0 and OpenVG 1.1
- An onboard dedicated 2D processor
- A multi-format video decoder that supports video resolutions of upto 1080P and video encoding at the same resolution for H.264 and VP8
- Good support for 3D video with the Stereoscopic 3D H.264 MVC video codec and an embedded HDMI 1.4a that enables connecting a 3D display to the chip
- Support of dual panel display, dual camera and full memory
Rockchip will send samples of the RK300XX chip to manufacturers by last week of March 2012
