Asus Unveils Two Honeycomb Tablets In CES 2011 – A Slider And A Transformer

The Android devices are starting to come out in CES 2011. Today, Asus has revealed two new tablets running Android 3,0 “Honeycomb” with an interesting twist. Aside from running Honeycomb, which is already a big deal, both of these tablets have physical keyboards which also makes them netbooks of some sort too.

Eee Pad Slider

asuseeepadslider2 The Eee Pad Slider borrows its form factor from phones with QWERTY keyboard. As you can see from the picture above, it has a physical keyboard which slides out neatly just like in phones.

The screen is tilted up when the keyboard is slided out which means you can keep the thing on a table and use it like a netbook.

The Eee Pad Slider is expected to cost around $500-$800 depending on configuration.

Eee Pad Transformer

The Eee Pad Transformer shares its form factor with a laptop. It has a keyboard which can be detached to use the device as a tablet only. With the keyboard attached, it is reported to last for 16 hours on a single charge.

It is expected to cost between $400-$500.
