Running Ubuntu In The Galaxy Tab
An enterprising member of the XDA Developers Forums who goes by the username dviera88 has managed to get Ubuntu up and running in the Samsung Galaxy Tab. He followed the instructions for running Ubuntu on the Samsung Epic by another member BThomas22x.
The installation looks simple enough but from the video Ubuntu seems to be running quite fine although there seems to be some occasionally lag. (The desktop environment is LXDE not GNOME.)
On a 7-inch screen I cannot think of any practical use for Ubuntu other than to show off. But that is a good enough reason for many.
