Samsung’s phone-cum-tablet Galaxy Note hits India.

Expanding its smartphone domain in India, Samsung Electronics launched Galaxy Note on Wednesday at a price tag of  Rs 34,990. With a 5.3 inch touch-screen, the phone bridges the gap between tablet and a high end phone.  The 5.3 inch screen has WXGA 1280 x 800p HD Super AMOLED display  and claims to be the first of its kind.

Outside, it looks like a normal phone with bulky screen, but inside , it houses 1.4Ghz dual core processor with 1GB RAM. In terms of storage, it has 16GB internal memory , with  micro-SD card slot supporting upto 32GB. The Galaxy Note comes with multiple touch input , where users can input via touch or via SPen. The SPen or the smart pen comes with hand writing recognition that convert handwriting into digital format making it more user friendly.

Users can also get rich browsing experience with its HSDPA, which shoots to 21 Mbps and HSUPA to 5.76 Mbps. Also the SPen will make it much easier to browse through pages for people who have trouble with touch-type.

Mr. Yadav also pointed out that Samsung plans to sell 1 lakh units by the end of this year. The phone is  dedicated to professionals, executives and creative people , particularly those engaged in film industry,architecture, fashion designing and advertising.
