Samsung is definitely taking it’s Galaxy brand to new heights. Samsung has now launched a Galaxy smart phone for all pockets – “Galaxy Precedent”. The device is said to be priced at US $150 and without any contract! This works to around Rs. 6800/- in Indian currency.
This move from Samsung looks to be a reply to the low cost Android mobile phones brought out by companies like Huawei and Kyocera. We have already told you about the Kyocera Echo and the 99 Euro Ideos phone from Huawei. Samsung has a big enough market in the Indian subcontinent and the $150 Samsung Galaxy Precedent will pose a competition to Karbonn’s A1 and Micromax a70 as well.
Let us look at the few specs and features of the Samsung Galaxy Precedent smart phone:
- Runs on Android 2.2 Froyo
- 800mhz processor inside
- 3.2-inch touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution
- 2 megapixel camera on the back
- 384MB of RAM
- microSD card slot capable of holding up to a 32GB microSD card
- Bluetooth
