They say Open Source can reduce your IT costs by many folds. Well, here is Asus which has managed to reduce the price of one of it’s netbooks – the Eee PC X101 just by using Meego Linux. We had told you about the Eee PC X101 from Asus when it was first unveiled at Computex earlier this month.
Like the Google Chromebook, Asus has also integrated cloud computing right into the netbook with the help of Dropbox. So, unlike Google, users won’t have access to unlimited space on the cloud for their data but just 2GB. Let’s take a look at the specs and the features of the Asus Eee PC X101 netbook:

The price of the Asus Eee PC X101 netbook, which runs MeeGo linux is estimated to be around US$ 200 (Rs. 8800/- in Indian Currency). There is another version of this netbook called the X101H and is said to run Windows 7. The price of this version of the netbook is estimated to be around US$ 300 (Rs. 13,500/- in Indian Currency).
