Skinput is a device which uses a method that allows the body to be appropriated for finger input using a novel, non-invasive, wearable bio-acoustic sensor. According to ExtremeTech – Skinput uses the natural acoustic variations that occur when you tap the skin on different spots of your body to create a virtual keyboard.
When Skinput is accompanied by a wearable projector it turns your body and hand into a new virtual reality device. Tapping your body with the fingers generates a lot of wave that can be used as useful signals in order to notify about various things. Different parts of the body has different wave intensities on tapping. On adding a Bluetooth link to the included armband, your fingers can become a tappable interface which you can then use to control a PC, MP3 player, or any other device. This device is almost similar to Pranav Mistry’s Sixth Sense. Here are a few more pictures and a Video.
