Nokia Lumia 520, Lumia 720 Windows 8 Phones Launched

Nokia has launched two new Lumia phones – the Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720. The speciality of these phones is that both of them run on the latest Windows 8 Mobile platform from Microsoft. The devices are already available for sale in India and will be available in other markets soon (Singapore).  Both the devices have almost similar features and a few others which are exclusive to the Nokia 720.

Pricing

Nokia Lumia 520 has been conveniently prices at US $225 (which is approx. Rs. 12,500 in Indian currency). Whereas the Nokia Lumia 720 has been priced at US $385, that works out to approx. Rs. 21,500/- in Indian Currency.

Key Similarities

Both Nokia Lumia 520 and the Lumia 720 run on Windows Phone 8 operating system and is powered by a decent 1GHz dual-core processor. There is also an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit packed in.

However, both the devices have just 512MB of RAM which make the phones look a bit from the past. Nowadays all high end phones are having 1GB RAM as a bare minimum. They also have 8GB of internal storage and additional storage can be added using microSD card (Upto 64GB only).

Key Differences

  • Nokia Lumia 520 has a 4-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display, whereas the Lumia 720 has 4.3-inch IPS ClearBlack display.
  • Nokia Lumia 720 has a 6.7MP rear camera with Carl-Zeiss lens and LED Flash. However, the Lumia 520 has a 5-MP camera and no flash at all!
  • Lumia 520 has a removable 1430 mAh Li-Ion battery that can give you 15 hours of talk time.  Lumia 720, on the other hand, is powered by a 2,000 mAh battery that can give upto 23 hours of talktime.
