RIM has announced an all new phone – the BlackBerry Passport during its Q1 earnings call for 2014. The device is a refreshing change from the currently available options as it comes in a square shape with the QWERTY keypad tucked really towards the bottom. The device has a 4.5 inch screen with a display resolution of 1440 by 1440 pixels. It is also being said that the screen is touch-sensitive for gesture recognition and easy interaction.
You can see this device hands-on in this picture below:
The BlackBerry Passport runs on the BB 10 Operating system and has ability to run Android apps. You can notice that BlackBerry has done away with keypad-devices with names starting with Q.
We have words as of now that the phone will be manufactured by Foxconn, till we get any further update about the device. As far as the price of the BlackBerry Passport phone is concerned, we expect it to be around $450 onwards in the US and Blackberry Passport’s price in India is expected to be Rs. 26,000 approx.
