Acer Launches CloudMobile Smartphone With Alibaba’s Aliyun OS
If you remember, last year we told you about Chinese e-commerce major Alibaba’s plans of competing directly with Google and Apple in the mobile operating system market. Based on this, Alibaba even went ahead and launched the Aliyun Mobile OS to compete head-on with Google’s Android OS.
Back then, analysts were skeptical about this new OS from Alibaba but now it looks like Acer has given Aliyun the much needed recognition by choosing Aliyun over Android for its new phone Acer CloudMobile. With Aliyun, the chinese users will feel more at home since the default usage language of Aliyun is Mandarin / Chinese.
Let us take a look at some specs and features of the Acer CloudMobile smartphone:
- Powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor
- 4.3 inch capacitive display screen
- 800 pixels by 1200 pixels display resolution
- 8 Megapixels primary camera with Flash, Autofocus and a VGA secondary camera for video calls
- 1GB RAM & 16 GB Internal Memory
- MicroSD slot that supports memory expansion of upto 32GB
- Runs on Alibaba’s Aliyun OS
The phone is priced at 3000 Yuan or USD 475 (Thats approx Rs. 28,000 in Indian Currency).
