Android Based Sony Ericsson Live Smart Phone Introduced In India

Sony Ericsson India officially announced the launch of its smartphone Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, which features the Google’s Android Platform. This is one of the few Walkman series devices based on the Android OS, and was unveiled back in October 2011. It has been available for purchase for a while now, but the company officially launched it only today.

The Sony Ericsson Live can be purchased for just Rs. 14,549/- (300 USD and 225 EUR) along with a free premium headset. AndroidOS also claims that those who purchase the smartphone with an Aircel connection will get 2GB of data free for one month along with 3 hours of Mobile TV. Currently, the device functions on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but Sony Ericsson has confirmed that will upgrade it to Ice Cream Sandwich soon.

“We are proud of our association with Aircel & Sony Music and through this collaboration, Sony Ericsson is enabling users to access the music on the new fully loaded Live with Walkman smartphone. With content from Sony Music and upto 2GB downloadable data for free, consumers can not only access music content, but also share this with their friends,” said P. Balaji, managing director, Sony Ericsson India.

The smartphone is targeted towards the music loving users, and is equipped with Sony xLOUD enhancement, TrackID music recognition and stereo speakers. Along with this, it also has a 1 GHz single core processor, 320 MB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

Other features of Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman include a 3.2 inch capacitative touchscreen display with scratch-resistant glass and 320 X 480 resolution. It has a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, a VGA front facing camera for video calling and HD (720p) video recording.
