Panasonic has launched an Android based media player for the masses. You may ask, so whats the big deal. Well, the deal is this device is fully water resistant. Well, given the bitter experience which I recently had with my phone when I dropped it in water accidentally.
The Panasonic SV-ME 1000 is a fully water resistant portable media player device that runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. If you think why it does not have the Android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich, then think again, this is just a media player and mobile phone and it will just be okay with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
This media player has a 7 inch screen with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution display. Apart from this, the entire media player is cased inside a water resistant IPX6/7 body. Other feature of the device include:
- 1Seg TV tuner for watching TV
- Wi-Fi for accessing the web
- SDXC memory card opening and 4 GB internal memory
- 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3 megapixel rear camera
The Panasonic SV-ME 1000 media player is available in White and Pink colours and is priced at US $550 (which is approx Rs. 28,000 in Indian Currency)
