The people at the XDA-Developers forums are at it again. This time a member by the name of supercurio has managed to get Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” on a Samsung Galaxy S.
Since the Nexus S is based on the Galaxy S, it is not very surprising to see Gingerbread on the Galaxy S. However the port is not finished yet. There are still a lot of issues which includes Wi-Fi problems, capacitive button problems etc.
