According to a report published by research firm Strategy Analytics, Apple shipped more iPhone units than RIM did for BlackBerry during 2010′s third quarter. However Nokia still remained at #1 shipping most number of smartphone units worldwide. Nokia mainly benefits from it’s vast presence in Asia and Europe.
As you can clearly see from the graph above, Nokia shipped 26.5 million devices during the three-month period. Apple however shipped only 14.5 million units which almost half as much as Nokia did. RIM shipped 12.3 million units of it’s Blackberry devices which is lesser than both Apple’s iPhone and Nokia’s smartphone devices. Nokia holds 34.4 percent of the market share currently as compared to 37.8 percent during this same period, last year.
