In our previous posts we have shown you the incredible hardware and amazing OS X that you get with every Apple Macbook Air. Here we have got something different for you. We will here analyze how well can an Apple Macbook Air run your all favorite and omnipresent Windows 7.
For the ones who do not know this, Apple supports a Boot camp feature in which you can run any other operating system parallel to mac OS X. Now using this boot camp feature, PC World lab team installed Windows 7 in the 11-inch and 13-inch models of the Macbook Air. The system performance was benchmarked against worldBench6 and the 11-inch Macbook Air earned a WorldBench 6 score of 74 which is very impressive given that the average WorldBench 6 score of the netbooks recently tested was close to only 45.
Not only this, the 11-inch Macbook Air’s performance was even more impressive in the gaming tests. Most netbooks can’t run 3D games like DiRT 2 and Call of Duty 4 at all, but the Air easily managed to sustain a frame rate of 23 frames per second while running COD4 at 1024 by 768 resolution and high graphic settings; much of the credit probably should go to the Nvidia GeForce 320M graphics card, which comes in every Air model.
Although an Apple Macbook Air costs around US$1200, but the performance it delivers is no match to the netbooks which are currently available in the market.
