Nikon D810 – Successor Of Nikon D800 Coming Soon

Nikon is planning to launch a successor of its Nikon D800 full frame DSLR camera, another full frame and is supposedly going to be called  the Nikon D810. The launch date of the D810 camera is slated to be June 26th 2014 and is expected to be priced at US $3297 (approx. Rs. 2 Lakh in Indian currency) – a tad higher than the current D800 price.

As usual, the camera will be manufactured in Thailand. The specs of the Nikon D810 DSLR camera are supposed to be the following:

  • 36 Megapixels sensor
  • No AA filter – even no alternate model with the folder
  • Expeed 4 / Expeed 4a imaging processor
  • New higher resolution LCD screen with possibly a bigger display
  • sRAW support
  • Improved video capabilities like distant fetch
  • AF improvements
  • Improved low light capabilities: one stop better ISO performance
  • Built-in GPS
  • Sadly, no support for Wi-Fi
  • Improved frame rate at 5 fps (6fps with the MB-D12)
  • Way lighter as compared to the Nikon D800 / Nikon D800E
