Review – Dell 1250c Laser Printer
Printers have been the most ignored, yet the most useful, part of our computer setup. There was a time when printers used to be so big that they were too difficult to be accommodated in houses. Then come the smaller editions of these WYSIWYG machines and finally printers made their way to households as well.
Today, we will tell you about a really small Laser printer from Dell – the Dell 1250c color laser printer which we recently got a chance to lay our hands on. 1250c is your answer to a compact office / home printer using which you can get high-quality printouts and fast printing speeds. Since the size of this laser printer is very small, it literally fits almost anywhere in your house / workplace.

The standard packaging box comes with one 1250c color printer unit, installation software CD, 1 black cartridge, 3 color cartridges, power cord, placemat and the product information guide.
Lets take a look at the specs and features of the Dell 1250c printer unit:
- Dimensions: 40cm by 40.6 cm by 41.28 cm
- Weight: 11 kg
- The printer has a max. print speed of 600 x 600 dpi Mono/Color and supports up to 12 ppm mono and up to 10 ppm color. Using this printer you can print up to 30,000 pages every month!
- The dell 1250c Laser printer has a pretty neat user interface with just 2 Buttons, 11 Graphically lit LEDs and a power switch.
- The input capacity of the printer tray is a max. of 150 sheets and the standard output tray capacity is 100 sheets.
- Types of paper supported: Plain paper – Normal & Thick, Cover, Coated paper, Label, Envelope, Recycle Paper & Hagaki.
- Support for Windows, Mac and Linux (unofficially).
It also has a 192 MHz build int processor and 64MB RAM which helps is processing the prints faster. The printer uses 4 toner cartridges for delivering the prints and each of these toner cartridges are of the size of half a brick and can be easily installed. The black cartridge costs around Rs. 5,000, while the color cartridges cost around Rs. 5,600 each.
The printer already comes with a free set of cartridges which can give a output of around 1200 pages. The cost of the Dell 1250c printer in India is around Rs. 16,000/-.
